Reflexology is a treatment which I have highly respected for a long time. The true value of this therapy was revealed to me in 2013 when it proved to be the most effective tool I had to manage my new baby and her symptoms of reflux and colic.

Up to 2013, I had earned a degree in Analytical Science, and was very happily working in the pharmaceutical industry. My first baby arrived in 2013, and my perspective on a lot of things changed, most notably, the power of complementary therapies, specifically reflexology.

I slowly but steadily became more interested in reflexology, left the pharmaceutical industry and became a qualified reflexologist. As I added to my training, I became more and more interested in cancer patients, and the role the reflexology can play in managing symptoms and side effects of treatment. This lead me to volunteer in a local cancer support centre, a role I find very fulfilling and rewarding.

As far as life is unpredictable, it is also ironic, even to the unlikely extent that Alanis Morissette described. In July 2018 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am currently a well cared for client at the cancer centre where I volunteer, and my chemotherapy regime also includes Taxol, a drug that I used to work closely with in my Pharmaceutical days.

For now, I am not practicing. I am taking the time to retreat and put all of my energy into my treatment and recovery. My perspective on everything changed in 2013, when I became a mother. With the arrival of cancer in my life, my perspective is shifting again, and my understanding of what is important is deepening.

I hope to be practicing reflexology, and other holistic therapies, again in the future. My colleague is based in Portarlington and she will be taking my appointments for the medium term. Please contact me for more information.

In the meantime, you can follow me on Instagram and Facebook, or read my blog page to get updates. My health is vulnerable and will receive all of my attention, so online updates will most likely be sparse as they fall low down my list of priorities. Be kind to yourselves, and check all of your lumps and bumps! Thank you to those who have taken the time to send kind wishes and thoughts xxx
